Wicksteed Open Air Theatre kicks off with one of the greatest Comedy line ups of all time! 6 of the UK’s funniest entertainers take to the stage to bring you the ultimate night of side splitting comedy in this unique setting. John Bishop is joined by Al Murray, Rob Beckett, James Acaster, Judi Love and host Tom Davis on stage to make this an evening to remember.
The Wicksteed Open Air Theatre is an immersive theatre experience in a unique picturesque setting of Ketterings Wicksteed Park, the oldest mainland theme park in the UK. At the UK’s largest open air theatre, the park and park rides will remain open throughout the day for you to enjoy the amazing views and settings, you can then expect to be amazed when stepping into the arena, with a variety of bars and delicious street food on offer, coupled with the greatest names in entertainment on stage, you can be sure that you will have an experience like no other.
John Bishop – John headlines the first ever Comedy in the Park at Wicksteed Open Air Theatre. The combination of John Bishop’s ability to keep the laughs coming along with his unique brand of observational humour, his undeniable charm and unrivalled gift of creating a relaxed atmosphere mean that the feel good factor of spending an evening in his company is absolutely priceless.
Rob Beckett – One of the team captains on Channel 4’s 8 Out Of 10 Cats and host of the hit Absolute Radio show Rock n’ Roll Football Rob is now a regular on our screens. His cheeky chappy persona has seen him perform on BBC Two’s Mock The Week, Live At The Apollo, Would I Lie To You and ITV’s Play To The Whistle.
Al Murray – Al Murray with his alter-ego, “The Pub Landlord”, is one of the most recognisable and successful comics in the UK. For over 20 years Al has filled arenas around the world, won numerous awards and accolades and has successfully hosted an array of TV series which include “Al Murray’s Happy Hour” (ITV) and the ground breaking sitcom “Time Gentlemen”
Judi Love – Straight-talking powerhouse Judi Love is one of the UK’s most stand-out up-and-coming performers. A brilliantly engaging comic on stage, Judi takes everyday relatable situations that resonate with audiences and brings them to life in hilarious routines.
James Acaster – James is one of the hottest acts on the circuit currently, having just come off the back of his very successful tour “Cold Lasagne Hate Myself 1999”. He’s also a regular face on shows such as Mock the Week, 8 out of 10 cats and Live at the Apollo, as well as boasting some incredible Netflix specials. James is very familiar with Wicksteed Park and it’s surroundings, being Kettering born and bred. He also spent some years of his youth working at the Park in the Oak Tree Café. James’ most recent project has seen him team up with fellow comedian Ed Gamble in his very successful podcast “Off the menu”, which has just hit 30 million listenters!
Tom Davis – Tom Davis is a writer, actor and stand-up comedian best known for his breakout show “Murder in Successville” appearing as DI Sleet. Most recently, Tom has been an integral part of Sky One’s “A League of their Own”, “Plebs” and also “Judge Romesh” as the bailiff to Romesh Ranganathan. Away from the TV screen, Tom is also an incredible comedian in his own right, selling out popular comedy nights across the UK in comedy clubs and venues alike.
